“You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbour as yourself.”
(Matthew 23:37)
MINISTRY
- Zesto was conceived as a teaching and mentoring ministry in the Summer of 2008, not simply to advance Christianity or for the purposes of conversion, but to specifically teach Christians what it means to live out the faith as commanded.
- The main purpose is to make people aware that loving one’s neighbours as ourselves is a major criterion to the profession of the faith. In other words, we are to do more than just do ‘good deeds’.
- The ministry's purpose is to encourage and teach people the necessity to engage actively in reaching out to the needs of the deprived, irrespective of race, colour or creed.
STUDIES
- For those interested in pursuing a deeper understanding of Biblical Truths, we will provide quarterly Seminars totally free of charge. This open the door for those who cannot afford the expense, to develop a sound Biblical foundation.
- We have and will continue to invite Theologians from various Seminaries. This is to enable participants to develop a wider perspective on Biblical Truths.
Meeting the Needs of the Community.
Over 50 % of our child population in the United Kingdom live below the poverty line. The UK is the fifth riches country in the world, it certainly is hard to believe that “three million children likely to be locked into a cycle of poverty they can’t escape and will pass down through the generations".
We at ZESTO believe that we can make a difference and help break this chain of poverty by addressing the root cause, which is generally directly linked to the parents themselves. Small as we are, we have made a difference in many lives.
The root causes are generally universal. The resolution to any one problem is unique to the individual’s makeup, circumstance and environment.
There is a need to reach out to the wider community, and our aim is to provide a non-threatening environment where people can come to seek help.
We at ZESTO believe that every human being is capable of changing their circumstances. Given the right guidance and assistance many are able to attain their full potential by making use of what is readily available.
Trauma resulting from death, serious illness or divorce in a family is indescribable. Without proper support the family shatters. Sometimes the children resort to drugs and alcohol to marr the pain of loss. These tragic circumstances are not restricted to the underprivileged, but just as much to the middle and upper classes. Privileged children are just as much a part of our hurting and angry young society.
We believe that every human being has some form of talent that can be nurtured and developed toward the individual becoming self-sufficient, significant and secure. We do not attempt to teach new skills, but to develop what is already present.
- The opportunities are endless for anyone ready to take up the challenge - the key word is “challenge” For many lethargy has crept in and being able to just sit back and collect state benefits is an easy way into the downward spiral of life. We aim to encourage families to earn decent wages and regain their self-esteem by coming off state benefits.
All of our volunteers have had no less than ten years of experience, mentoring/counselling, providing education, ministering to the homeless, addicts and the bereaved. Many of us have personally experienced and conquered hardships and bereavement.
Our ‘Team’ of volunteers have come together through years of friendship and the experience gained from voluntary work with various other organisations. Cumulatively we have some 100 years of experience. We have encountered people from all walks of life and of all ages seeking help.
We meet people at their point of need and nurture them to the point of recovery and stability. Our biggest joy and reward is to see people set free from debilitating circumstances and to live a purposeful life that leads to love , fulfilment and peace.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have so generously supported our cause, without your love and care our ministry would not have been possible! May you be richly blessed.
