Faith in Action

“You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbour as yourself.”

(Matthew 23:37)

STUDIES

Meeting the Needs of the Community.

Over 50 % of our child population in the United Kingdom live below the poverty line. The UK is the fifth riches country in the world, it certainly is hard to believe that “three million children likely to be locked into a cycle of poverty they can’t escape and will pass down through the generations".

We at ZESTO believe that we can make a difference and help break this chain of poverty by addressing the root cause, which is generally directly linked to the parents themselves. Small as we are, we have made a difference in many lives.

The root causes are generally universal. The resolution to any one problem is unique to the individual’s makeup, circumstance and environment.

There is a need to reach out to the wider community, and our aim is to provide a non-threatening environment where people can come to seek help.

We at ZESTO believe that every human being is capable of changing their circumstances. Given the right guidance and assistance many are able to attain their full potential by making use of what is readily available.

Trauma resulting from death, serious illness or divorce in a family is indescribable. Without proper support the family shatters. Sometimes the children resort to drugs and alcohol to marr the pain of loss. These tragic circumstances are not restricted to the underprivileged, but just as much to the middle and upper classes. Privileged children are just as much a part of our hurting and angry young society.

We believe that every human being has some form of talent that can be nurtured and developed toward the individual becoming self-sufficient, significant and secure. We do not attempt to teach new skills, but to develop what is already present.

All of our volunteers have had no less than ten years of experience, mentoring/counselling, providing education, ministering to the homeless, addicts and the bereaved. Many of us have personally experienced and conquered hardships and bereavement.

Our ‘Team’ of volunteers have come together through years of friendship and the experience gained from voluntary work with various other organisations. Cumulatively we have some 100 years of experience. We have encountered people from all walks of life and of all ages seeking help.

We meet people at their point of need and nurture them to the point of recovery and stability. Our biggest joy and reward is to see people set free from debilitating circumstances and to live a purposeful life that leads to love , fulfilment and peace.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have so generously supported our cause, without your love and care our ministry would not have been possible! May you be richly blessed.
